SEP integrates economic development and environmental protection.  We are encouraging members of the community to see themselves as stewards of their land and to recognize that their wealth is ultimately linked to sustainable land use.

To this end, we have introduced various initiatives in the village and sponsored members to go for permaculture courses, agro-forestry and other trainings that inspire them to develop methods of creating better livelihoods while caring for the land.

In an effort to curb the rapid rate of deforestation, we are promoting the use of bamboo forestation and bamboo construction. More about bamboo

As a student of this course, you will enable us to also train young builders from the East Kano community as well from other impoverished communities around Kenya in working with bamboo. You will also help us in continuing our outreach programs.
